Effective July 1, 2017, Public Act 17-68 required all Independent Schools to subject all employees and other personnel with direct student contact to state and national fingerprint-based criminal history record checks from the State Police and Federal Bureau of Investigation. As a recipient of the information, Independent Schools must undergo an approval process, implement complex security policies and procedures to comply with FBI security requirements, and be subjected to state and federal audits.
Versie Jones, Auditor from the Division of State Police, Criminal Justice Business Applications Unit, will be addressing the following issues regarding the Approval Process and Compliance:
- The Application Process
- Audit Compliance
- Use of CHRI
- Security of CHRI
- Dissemination of CHRI
