Members of the CAIS
Commission on Technology have negotiated volume
agreements with vendors that can save your school
thousands on software and hardware purchases. The
CAIS Microsoft school agreement is the lowest
price/highest value software agreement available
for Microsoft products. The minimum number of
licensed CPUs is reduced just for CAIS schools from
100 CPUs to as little as 34 computers. Similar
values can be found with Adobe, Sophos, Macromedia,
FileMaker and others that offer CAIS schools
substantial savings and ease of
licensing.
In order for CAIS schools
to take advantage of the Microsoft agreement you
must send a representative to the annual licensing
meeting - Microsoft requires participation at this
event in order to take advantage of their
agreement. The meeting takes place each year on
Wednesday evening at the Summer Technology
Conference. This year's meeting is on June 20, 2007
at Miss Porter's School. Mark your
calendar!
Even if you missed this
year's meeting with Microsoft, you can still take
advantage of the many other consortium agreements
that have been negotiated. We are not allowed to
post pricing; questions can be directed to the
contacts listed at: http://www.caisct.org/cais/Quickforms/viewform.aspx?PostingID=204
Join us after the meeting
for a wine/cheese/beer reception and vendor
showcase to meet and talk with consortium agreement
representatives and other leaders in the industry.
There is no cost to attend this meeting.
However, if you would like to join us for a steak
& chicken (vegetarian option available)
bar-b-que ($25) following the vendor showcase,
please indicate in the appropriate space on the
registration form.
