Putting Data to Work in Independent Schools

In this session, gain insight into top-of-mind financial topics like revenue and expenses with data from NBOA's Business Intelligence for Independent Schools (BIIS) platform. Learn about the results of NBOA's recent study of the structure of the independent school business office. National and special regional analyses will be presented. This session also includes tips on putting data to work and showcases NBOA data tools and resources.

Elizabeth Dabney is NBOA’s director, research and data analysis. She leads the management of industry research based on data in the association’s Business Intelligence for Independent Schools (BIIS) platform in support of NBOA’s mission to inform NBOA members and stakeholders and encourage data-driven decision making throughout the independent school community. Prior to joining NBOA, Dabney was the director, research and policy analysis, at the Data Quality Campaign, a nonprofit education policy and advocacy organization. Her prior professional work experience includes research roles at Westat and Metis Associates, Inc. She holds a B.A. in sociology from New York University.
